I'm a Callaway Golfer and have been for years. Currently hitting 3,4 and 5 hybrids--HevenlyWoods. But what I am REALLY Crazy about is My New Callaway Prototype Forge Irons. Man--the feel, look and responsivenes is unparalell by anything I used before. I'm (57 in age) and able to accurately blast My Six Iron 195 or so yards. If anyone ever get the chance to purchase--or just hit these Prototypes--watch out, they will fool you into to thinking you are a real golfer..

Rookie, does the puring make a big difference? Is it worth the extra price. After our conversation on the other board, Im thinking of just reshafting my driver and wondered if I should spend the extra money. The only sure way to find a ball sliced into the woods is to hit a provisional straight down the fairway.

To me, yes, it makes a difference. Some argue it doesn't and others argue that there is no data to back it up. My distance increased by 5 yards upon having them pured and accuracy was what really benefitted. My shot dispersion went from 12 yards off center to 6.5 yards off center. So in my experiences, yes, it made a difference. SST Pure has data on their site from an independant study they had done. hendricks97 wrote: Rookie, does the puring make a big difference? I also have a set of Ben Hogan Apex blades that I am currently getting shafted with pured Rifle Shafts. My father got them from ebay years ago, and was planning on getting them shafted and playing with them. When he passed away a few years ago, I got them. I figured that I would continue to do what my father wanted to do, so I'm getting them ready for play. I can't wait to get them in a few days.

Driver = Nike 10.5 Degree (purchased some 4 years ago) 3W = Delta (left over from original set) 5W = Callaway X W/Graphite Shaft 3I-PW = Callaway X-20 W/ Steel Shafts SW & Putter are off the cheap rack at Scheel's. They're nothing special but get the job done.
By the end of the year I plan to upgrade my 3 Wood and Sand Wedge as they've gotten pretty beat up over the years.

I have been playing a set that I built from Golfsmith about 6 yrs. ago. I am left handed and getting the club you would like and playing what is available are two different things. Anyway, I am in the process of changing over my set.
