Bravo.... another member with the same thoughs as mine ! All I have received is junk and/or items I think you could get in the dollor store. I do enjoy the mag. and did just buy a pratice net a a price that I could sell it on e-bay and make a few $$ if I did not like it so much... LOL Anyway I too have followed all the instructions and follow up comments and never did see the product show up in the mag as a test item... Hmmmmm maybe it cost too much.... LOL    Good luck and let me know if you receive any good products to test.....

FYI the tournaments are listed on the website.   I believe they need to adjust prices based on location.  Last year at TPC Louisiana the fee was $180 and we had over 40 players.  This year they charged $228 for the same course that i can walk on and play for $75 and only 26 players showed up.   as fro test products i believe i got better test products before i was a life member.  I got a real nice PING shirt and sleeves of balls. now i get crap.   may its because i am left handed.

At least you got a shirt all I've got so far is bug wipe and a sleeve of two balls and some sticky stuff so that I can see where I've hit the ball on my putter. But I enjoy the mag. and the forums so when they send me anything I appreciate it. Oh and by the way right and or left hand means nothing

I am also starting to feel like this is a rip-off.. I have called 5 times and just now e-mailed for the 2nd time about my golf bag....... All I ever get is that it has been re ordered and should be there in 6 weeks.. I was even told that they would have put a rush on my last call one week..Well time has come and gone... no bag.. no extra goodies from the testing...All my dues are paid... They have there money...... I WANT MY GOLF BAG!

Mrhalls, I'm really surprised you're having such a hard time getting this golf bag. I must have gotten lucky and paid mine off at the right time when things were still rather slow. Now I'm sure people are ordering golf bags left and right. I paid my account off Jan. 25 and had my bag not even two weeks later. I agree that I am a little disappointed in the lack of products to test and the items given away but for me the free passports have been sufficient (otherwise I wouldn't have gone to any golf tournaments). It is a beautiful bag once you get it though. Check out my other post in "Life members: Golf bag I want my money back" to see pictures.

I can understand the feeling of being "short changed" makes some sense, but Golf is a much bigger picture which this club is only a small part. I have been a life member for 3 yrs but I did not join just for the promise of freebees. There are far more benifts here than that; we have access to many other things.

Heard the same complaint from several people here in Canada. My own feeling, Golf is a much much more than the club; this is only a very small part. Joining any club and paying for it on the hope of getting free gifts doesn't make a lot of sense, you wouldn't do it for anything else. I've been a life member for 3 yrs and the Forum's, tips, instruction video's are well worth the cost anything else is a bonus.

Honestly, how many more pages of this are going to get posted. Here, lets leave it at this...

Cons: I dont get everything for free that I wanted. What a rip.Oh yeah, and the new website sucks.

Pros: I get so much more from the posts snd the other emembers and that makes it worth it. Oh yeah, and the new website sucks.

Does that wrap up everything that has been said so far? If theres nothing new to be said, why do we keep repeating the same posts over and over?

p.s. I side with the pros

I have been a Life Member since May of 1999. I have not tested any products and I even called multiple times, sent in all of the required documents to let them know, nothing happened. I don't get my yearly information that would include discounts and passes to tournaments. Becoming a life member did one thing it stopped their pestering emails and letters, that’s it. I truly enjoy reading the magazine even got an autograph from Masters Champ Zach Johnson at the airport while on business, just happened to have the issue with me. I recently moved to Texas from Oregon I had a 6 handicap but just had knee surgery so I'm looking to get back playing soon. Just started swing a club yesterday not hitting balls yet but it’s tempting. I have to say though that if all a Life Membership did was to stop their pestering it was worth it. Just wish they would pay attention and do the things they said they would.

PS on a side note I think Tiger should be banned from the next tournament for his foul outburst. I think it should be a rule that if you want to act like a moron then you will be treated like one. Do you really think any of those kids will ever forget his outburst? I think not. It is just not right for anyone to do that period. His Dad would more than likely taken him to the wood shed ,and his Mom would have been harder. I wish Tiger could hear himself, all that talent yet still Ghetto trash.

I've only been a life member since 03,but the impression I got was there would be more test products than I have received. I have tested mosquito repellent and one sleeve of golf balls in 5 years. I cant count the times I have signed up online and over the phone to test products. Sooooo from where I sit, yeah I think I have been jipped. The only thing that has been of any use is the tournament tour passes.

The main reason I became a Lifer was to get the annual tournament pass but unfortunately could never make any of the events. Finally, the one time I actually was at DisneyWorld while they had a PGA tournament, I forgot the damn voucher back home! I did get to play the same course the following Wednesday. It was pretty cool walking past the temporary grandstands. All the workers were apparently instructed to stop when players played through because they all stopped and watched me hit the worst shot in my entire life.

I have tested several things. Some are rather silly. I kept a rain jacket with tear-off sleeves and a travel bag case. And of course I have countless notepads, ball markers and divot repair tools. I am hoping to test a full set of irons that I get to keep for free :)

I've only been a member since 2007 and I have already received 2 sleeves of balls to test. Plus I have taken advantage of discounts offered thru club. I would suggest you contact the club and express your discomfort and let them resolve your complaints. They have been very helpful and would like to hear from you. The benifits today are much better than before from what I can read here. Maybe an upgrade is needed for older members.

Hi all - I've been a life member for maybe 6 months (regular member for a year or so before).  I've got my bag and I just received and tested a sleeve of balls.

I'm guessing its just the luck of the draw on who is testing what.

I just used the TopFlite Gamer ball and it was pretty good - especially for a Top Flite.  I play at about a 16 handicap so there's only so much a ball can do for me but I noticed no difference with the Gamer versus the Titleist NXT I normally use.  If this Gamer comes out and Titleist prices keep going up I'd consider it at a viable alternative - certainly for the mid-teen handicap and higher.

I've heard back quickly from the support folks when I've asked via e-mail!

Regards

I've been a life member since May 99 and have tested products as fast as they will send them to me.  I've tested a sleeve of Callaway balls, a test device with straps, a sand wedge, then nothing to test has arrived in nearly 2 years, until this week.  I got an Identi-Pen marker, red in color with markers on each end, nice marker for id'ing your ball, but after 8 years of membership this is what I'm sent to test?  Who are the members who get drivers and irons and bags to test?  How do you get those items?  I would not say that I feel like I've got my money's worth, but it's not been that bad either.

Orc & Pop, I have been in the club since the very beginning and a life member for years and I understand your frustrations....been there, done that. There is a way you can take advantage of what is avialable though in your favor. Quite some time ago "Warrior Golf" came out with their marketing ploy(s) for both clubs and other equipment and gear through the club. If you sign up for their "web mail" send outs, you will be pretty stunned at how it works. I have in the last year received 4 brand new wedges, a new "balada" blade putter, a 460cc driver (that is absolutely awsome), a new 27 degree chipping iron and a 20 degree (3 iron) hybrid. All for free, only paying the shipping costs. I finally bit the bullet though and paid for their new 3, 5, &7 woods for a product test ($133 each which is truly unbelievable) that I can return for refund to my credit card if I am unsatified with them. Having used them now for just over a month, I have decided I am going to keep all 3. Check out their web site at www.warriorcustomgolf.com and you can sign up and become product teste for them and you will see what I mean. When you phone in after receiving one of their e-mails for free equipment they will try to pressure sales you into buying other things (including clubs) but keep to the item you are talking about and you will be able to receive what you want for only the shipping cost(s). Let us all know how you make out.

See you know what its about!  Just the knowledge you can get from the magazines, the forums, the instruction link, and meeting new people is worth the $375 I paid.

Dont take this personal, but we are not pros!  Pros get free stuff.  If we get some chipping mat or a sleeve of cheap balls, that is great in my eyes.  This is a way to share about eachothers game and how to make it better.  I have been a life member, paid in full, for a little over a month and have tested 2 different products already, and I have a third that came today.  I think the product testing is a bonus.  Just my thoughts and I am sorry you are upset.  If it makes you feel any better,  My handicap is higher than a 3, or was it 5?

I have been a Lifetime Club Member Since 2001, however, there is always some issue with the shipment of the welcome kit and the gifts promised.  Still have not got them all.  On top, I have only tested a tape to use on a putter to show if you hit the sweet spot.  Not even a single ball to try.  I am very dissappointed about the membership for all the promising promoted online and in the magazine.

Besides, the web site still showing that there is still outstanding balance to the Lifetime Membership after emailing and talking lively to a rep. to resolve the problem.  Over the phone the rep. found that all the payments have been received and promised will update my profile...  Which never happened.

I don't know what I can do about it.  In fact, another email has been sent two weeks ago but still not heard back a word.

If they are selecting the tester in a random manner, then I can only see myself being a very unlucky person over the last 7 years...

Now the game tracking services is gone too.  I really don't know what I can enjoy for being a Lifetime Club Member.

I have tested several products already and only reapplied once.  I keep in contact with the club.  I call the customer service line and ask if Iam getting new products to purchase soon.  Everytime I have done that, I have recieved something to test.  I really dont care if I test anything, the website and the magazines are enough.

I became a life member right when they started the Burton bag offer & I got the cart bag. Before the Burton bag they had a travel set (golf travel bag, gament bag & tote bag) & I believe they also had a 3-piece luggage set before that.

When I went Life, I received the travel cover, a garment bag and an over the shoulder "man ? bag". used the travel bag 3-4 times held up so far. I also received the usual initiation gifts. I have tested (3 times) golf balls, bridgestone callaway and top flite, limited flight balls, "Quolf"or something like that. I think, if you read the magazine, your opinion wont get published unless you say positive things about a product. I have yet to find any negative performance reviews of any product. If something sucks we may still buy it from misleading feedback.

Will be testing the Digital Shield. This is a partial glove for the right hand of a right handed golfer to protect the right hand. Will give a preview of my response to the club so that you will know whether or not I liked it or not.

OK here's the link for the digital shield www.thedigitalshield.com Got mine today looks kinda cheesey like a glove cut into different peices. But I will get a chance to try it out tomorrow Going to play a Brand new course they just opened all 18 holes and got their carts this week. So will be able to give you an idea of how this works etc.

I am a member since early last year. Didn't really know what to expect but am happy with the membership. I like the magazine and there are a few perks to look forward too. I really like the forums. Haven't heard from anyone in Western Washington but will be looking to see if there is anyone out there to maybe play golf with. If someone lives in Tacoma I would like to possibly hook up and play Chambers Bay, site of the 2015 U.S. Open.

Now I have to admit that I am a litle disappointed that this year instead of me being able to go to the third round of the Tour Championship on Saturday I can only go to the practice round on Wednesday. The only upside to that is that you are allowed cameras during the practice rounds and the players are more autograph friendly.

Robraider, when I ever get up to Seattle which I do occasionally, I would love to play Chambers Bay.  Heard it is a great course and I am just about 5 hours south of you.

I feel totally ripped off also...I paid my Life Membership off in April and have still not gotten my Burton bag. I keep getting the run around that it will 4-6 weeks. That has been my answer on 4 different occasions. Free stuff, test stuff, NO...I have not gotten anything but excuses....I gave them until Aug 30 for my bag or I am going to demand a refund....I should have listened to my daddy...nothing in life is free.....A bunch of unreliable people are getting rich off of this deal..

Well the jury is still out on the Digital Sheild. I used it today, did not seem to create any problems, I wore it at all times, tee, fairway, and putting. Did not seem to alter my feel of the putter. The size is a little small, I'm hoping that the fact that it is leather it will strech. I wear a medium glove so that is what I ordered, and that is what they sent. Will follow up  as I generate more info.

I too have worn mine for one round Don't know if I can honestly say at this point if I would buy one of these things. Not because it is a bad product or anything it just doesn't really aply to me. I don't normally get blisters. But I will try it out again weht I get out again in 2 weeks.( I hope)
