I have received several low end products to test over the years like warm packs, sunscreen, golf balls I would never use, etc. Anyone ever test a more substantial product like a driver, iron set, putter, golf shoes, or even a golf glove? Are those items saved for Lifetime members?

I'm a life member since 1999. We do not get preferential treatment. Read other posts, you will see we complain as much as everyone else.

I just happened to be reading through the FAQs and according to that we should be receiving an average of 1 test product every 6 months. The test section says 1 a year. Its been 2 years since I got anything. I sent the club an Email concerning this (as well as a couple other questions) but Im not holding my breath for an answer. The only sure way to find a ball sliced into the woods is to hit a provisional straight down the fairway.

Good Luck, let us know what they say, if I'm still alive when they respond. This club reminds me of what momma said when we were little and would fight over something..'Ain't nobody get'in noth'in'... MARTY

I got a reply Email today. It told me how to sign up to become a tester. No $hit, I already know how to do that. That wasnt my question. The only sure way to find a ball sliced into the woods is to hit a provisional straight down the fairway.

See Marty your mom was right. H97 I have been a member since 2000 life member since 2004 I have never tested anything or received anything except the luggage with my membership (which as I have said before was damaged) I fill out the contest stuff and the want to be a tester forums monthly, nota. The club is what it is a place to go to have conversations with fellow golfers and to received a magazine every now and then as Marty has said several times, thank you for subscribing.

Yep a prime example of...expect the unexpected. Look at the testers in the mag., most are in the club area..nobody has listed anything lately, so I guess no testing is happening now. MARTY

I've been a memeber since sometime in the early 90's. Most of what I have received has been pretty much useless to me. However, I have received a 5 wood, which didn't really work for me, but my playing partner loved and a set of irons which were o.k. Nothing exceptional but certainly acceptable. It's pretty much luck of the draw as best I can tell. Which, I guess, is as it should be.

After filling out God only knows how many testing profiles, I received another Email from the club stating that they had no record of me filling out a profile. I told them I just did the night before. They said after I fill it out again, there is a 10 to 12 month waiting list. I asked them how, for a supposed yearly benefit, why it would then be 3 years between actually receiving anything and even then it would be a useless piece of crap. They apologised for my unhappiness with what Id received and said the vendors set a specific criteria for who gets to test the items, but still didnt answer my question about how we are supposed to know if we are even on the list. Im getting really tired of the piss poor customer service acting like they are offering us something that we didnt pay for and we are an inconvenience to them.If only I had never become a lifer. The only sure way to find a ball sliced into the woods is to hit a provisional straight down the fairway.

walk away H97, just walk away. Stop trying to get anything 'cause your not gonna. The best thing to do is order your passes(use'em or not) and get your rebates and USE them. That $40. in rebates is the only real thing you are going to get from this club besides this dying forum. Enter contest daily(why? don't know) probably not listed either, then look at forums and close it and move on. Accept it, you got burned.. MARTY

Gee wiz Marty, leave the guy alone, it is probably the only time he gets to b!tch. If he tries it at the shop or at home, he probably gets smacked. MJ, TOSTSTP

Im actually not bitching, Im just reporting on the Email conversation I am having with the club that is directly related to this thread. My original Email had nothing to do with this (I was asking about the availability of the travel bags) and I added a question about the opposing rules concerning the testing. The only sure way to find a ball sliced into the woods is to hit a provisional straight down the fairway.

I have been a member a number of years and I have rec'd a test product about once a year. Nothing special - in fact I once rec'd two womens balls to test. (maybe they are trying to tell me something) The best thing I did get was a nice $70 Ping windjacket. I don't hold my breath for great products to test. I guess as they say, it is what it is... product testing is a load of crap. i was supposed to test some nice sounding grips but they said it was cancelled so in place of it i get to test 3 shiny new golfballs. whats to test? it looks like a golf ball, flies like a golf ball, so im guessing its probably a golf ball, test over.

I have been a life member for over 10 years and I have not gotten anything to test other than a divot tool. I still have it and use it but I would like to be the one testing a set of irons some time. How do you get on that list? Do you have to know someone or have incriminating pictures on the club president to get that stuff? Just wondering.

Same here. I have been a life member for 10 years. Of those 10 years only 4 times have they sent anything. 3 set of golf balls and paper stat tracker. OOOO boy!!! Other than that the only thing I get from them is ignored.

I joined in August 2003 and was sent one small product that summer and 2 more the second. The last product they sent me was a sleeve of balls but they were sent to me so late in the fall that I was done golfing for the year. I wrote and explained the situation and they seemed fine with reviewing them in the spring. I was very pleased with the product and said so in May when I got to try them. I made the jump to life membership around that time and purchased a few products that they advertised for sale. I seem to have fallen off the face of the earth when it comes to product tests.
